Early Detection: Ke4y to Winning Against Eating DisordersEARLY DETECTION: KEY TO WINNING AGAINST EATING DISORDERS Eating disorders are becoming common as peer and social pressure gang up on the lot of us. Everyday, the media bombards us with images of slim and fit celebrities in the most fashionable clothes in the most fabulous locations. We are constantly being told that in this day and age, diet and exercise is always the way to go. While eating a healthy and balanced diet while maintaining our ideal body weight is best for our health and well-being, there are times when the social pressure can be too much to bear, leading to a variety of eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia and binge eating, and often it can be too late before these eating disorders are detected. It is thus important to determine whether you or any of your loved ones may be exhibiting eating disorder symptoms. This way the problem can be addressed promptly, keeping it from becoming potentially dangerous and fatal. It’s good to be conscious about your weight but to be overly conscious about it is bad. Most anorexics would feel overweight despite having lost so much weight already. A person afflicted with anorexia nervosa can never be too thin and will think themselves as fat when they look at their thinning selves in the mirror. Be watchful if you or a loved one is purposely avoiding food, often making excuses not to eat. If you or anybody in your family is showing any of these eating disorder symptoms, have them diagnosed before they suffer from excessive nutrition loss and liver dysfunction.
