Prenatal Care to Prevent Eating Disorders in ChildrenPARENTAL CARE TO PREVENT EATING DISORDERS IN CHILDREN Parents are often advised to give enough attention and tender loving care to their children. This is because making sure that your children feel loved and important can very well assure that they will be hanging out with the right crowds and not seeking attention elsewhere. More importantly, spending time with your children keeps them from vices, drugs and a host of eating disorders which can not only be harmful but fatally dangerous as well.
Several studies have shown how the lack of parental care and attention have led to anorexia, bulimia or binge eating. What’s worse, parental neglect will most likely veer you away from noticing and promptly addressing whatever eating disorder symptoms that may be showing in your child. Be very watchful of what your child eats and what your child avoids during meals. Making sure that he or she gets the much needed daily nutrition not only helps your child avoid eating disorders but will allow you to monitor whether or not they may be displaying any of the more common eating disorder symptoms. More importantly, this will also show your children how much you care for them. This will build confidence between you and your child and will allow him or her to immediately voice out whatever problems and feelings of insecurity that may be bottled up inside. Letting your children know that you can be someone that they can look up to or approach for their problems will help him or her avoid the pits of an eating disorder.
