THE DANGERS OF CHRONIC DIETING

Are you a chronic dieter? Do you find yourself crashing into one diet after another to maintain your weight or keep yourself thin? Many might contend that getting into roller coaster diets is the way to go considering that you will be allowing yourself the occasional joys of eating trans fats, sweets and carbs because whatever weight you put on can easily be lost. Unfortunately they are wrong.

Chronic dieting can be dangerous. The inconsistency in the types and amounts of food that you eat will eventually take its toll on your body. More importantly chronic dieting is one of the more obvious eating disorder symptoms that we should all watch out for.

Chronic dieting is a tendency among those with binge eating disorder. This is characterized by a person’s need to occasionally eat in excess especially during feelings of intense anger, stress, sadness or frustration. often, binge eaters will have a tendency to hide what they eat because they often feel ashamed that they are unable to control what they eat or stop when already full.

Many will eat even when they are not feeling hungry and may eat rather fast compared to others, without necessarily tasting what they eat. Often this is so others will not notice how much they have eaten.

Binge eaters will often feel guilty later and subject themselves to excessive exercise and physical activity to lose the weight they may or may not have gained. They will also go on three day diets and even fast and starve themselves in an attempt to recover their old weight.
