WHEN DIET AND EXERCISE IS TOO MUCH

How much dieting is healthy dieting and how much exercise is actually good exercise? It is always important to remember that too much of anything can be bad and that too much dieting and too much exercise are actually eating disorder symptoms that we should all watch out for.

Most eating disorders like bulimia, binge eating and anorexia are triggered by feelings of insecurity, specifically on how an individual looks. Those afflicted with eating disorders tend to think of themselves as too big or too fat, despite already being too thin and way below their ideal weights. This is the reason why they tend to embark on crash diets and exercise beyond what their bodies can actually endure.

Be very careful when you or your loved one feels the sudden urge to diet or fast. Try to see within yourself and assess why you are actually doing this. If this is your mans of pursuing happiness as an end instead of just pursuing a healthier you, tread carefully.

Remember as well that dieting and fasting are not one and the same and purging is not a good way get rid of the calories. Dieting should not prevent you from getting the nutrients that your body needs to function properly. When getting into an exercise regimen, limit yourself to what your body can actually sustain while keeping enough energy for your daily routine.

Many eating disorder symptoms do not become obvious until the condition has already turned fatal. It is thus important to keep a close watch on yourself and your family. Eating disorders are more prevalent than you think.
